Just An Update

So after three stressful days and nights trying to finish off my Madeline Dress Coat and netting under skirt, I finally got it almost completely done, a few nips and tucks here and there, but it was good to go for the photoshoot.

The photoshoot was Thursday morning at 9:30am, 16th of September. Hair and Makeup was meant to be 8:30am-9:30am, but when I got to tafe, I found out that the Hair and Beauty don't start till 9am, half an hour behind schedule already, it wasn't looking good, eep.

I met up with my beautiful and tiny model Lucy Harrison from Finesse Modelling Agency. After hair and makeup were doing their thing, I was just doing some finishing touches on Madeline. We finally got to the Studio at about 10:15am, 45 minutes behind schedule >.<

Took a little bit to get started, but once we got started I felt relieved. Had to pin my Dress Coat at the back as Lucy was about a 6-8 and my garment is a standard 10. But the camera didn't see the back ;] lol

I cannot wait to see how the photos have turned out, so impatient, I just want to see them NOW, hahaha.

I wont put a picture up of Madeline just yet, but I will show you some other photos of making my netting under skirt. Why spend $150 at DK's on purchasing an under skirt (which you'd still have to add more onto because they don't have much on)...when you can make your own !!

Heres me drowning in my netting...lol. Oh and theres Madeline on my mannequin in the background (sneak peek) ;]

Nights Like These

Unfortunately I'm not looking forwards to nights like these...and I know there will be many more to come over the next 8 weeks, thats right 8 WEEKS TILL THE PARADE, and 12 garments to make. Yep definitely about to have a panic attack. :[[[

Got my NESCAFE RICH ROAST and iTunes on. Gonna be a long night. Why you ask ? Because clever me booked a photoshoot for this Thursday morning at 9am and so I need to make my Coat Dress and Tulle skirt which is worn under the Coat. Its good though because it gets me motivated to get it finished ! and then the photoshoot will be out of the way and I can focus on getting my range completes. Wish me Luck !! <3

Outfit 6 - Suzie - Final Toile Completed

Finally finished my final outfit !

After about three toiles of Suzie I finally got her finished, pheew.
I am really pleased at the way the top turned out. I did alter my original design, the pleated section in the bust was originally designed to be a cowl, but this looks much better and very flattering.

This top is completed with a high-waisted skirt which will be made up of Tulle. I didn't make a toile of that because all you do with Tulle is gather it or scrunch it to the way you want it to look :]

The main fabric is a Black Stretch Cotton Sateen and the bust underneith is in a Red and White Striped Stretch Cotton Sateen.

I am a bit worried at the moment, as last week I ordered my Tulle and Netting and have no received it yet ! eep. I need the Netting for my coat dress which needs to be completed soon for the photoshoot. So I have my fingers crossed !

Outfit 5 - Rizzo - Final Toile Completed

So my 'Rizzo' Dress is now complete, shes turned out just like I wanted.

I have already started cutting out the fabric for Rizzo, and much more fabric for the other pieces, but my back, neck and hand are really starting to feel the pressure ! lol

The Fish Tail will have Black Netting underneith so that it will stick out. The finishing length of the dress will be about mid calf, so as soon as I get my Izzabella to come round, it will be perfect !

Im not sure if I like the ruffle in the top picture where it is sitting more flat, or the bottom picture where the ruffle is more upright, please give me your thoughts ?

Outfit 4 - Madeline - Final Toile Completed

Madeline, My FAAAAV !

Madeline is a Coat Dress, it is fitted on the upper body to the waist, then bells out up to the knees.

Sometime when designing this piece it escaped me that normally womans coats go right over left, duh, so what you see in the pictures below will be mirrored in the making of the 'real one'.

The coat is in a red fabric called Cracked Suedette Knit, it is a magnificent fabric, let me tell you ! haha. I will have to fuse it to make it look stiffer as it it a knit. The fabric sort of has a soft wet leather look, you'll have to wait and see it understand.

All the ruffles and belt which is not included in the picture are in the same fabric, but a 'Sand' colour.

To make the skirt of the Coat Dress stick out like that, I will be making a layered skirt out of black netting. Although netting isn't so nice to touch, I chose it becuase it is thick and will give me the look I want to achieve.

I have also chosen Madeline to be in the photoshoot which will be displayed in the booklet at the end of the year, that I have explained in earlier posts.

Outfit 3 - Roxanne - Final Toile Completed

So this is my lovely Roxanne.

The only changes I made from my original design was putting a band at the back of the neck to hold the sleeves on the shoulders as they are so far apart.

In my design there are ruffles on the left bust and at the centre back of the dress, which are not in the picture. The ruffles on the back will sit rights above the bum and lower back, accentuating the womans curves.
