My Design Brief and Inspirations

Over the next 26 weeks I will be designing and creating my Graduation Collection called Miss Meg. I will be constructing six outfits which are influenced by the 50's Rockabilly babes and merging this with the Modern Day woman. The women that inspired me are the beautiful Christina Aguilera, sexy and seductive Dita Von Teese, the fun and quirky Betty Rizzo aka. Stockard Channing and the fantastic Marilyn Monroe. The silhouettes of the 50's were either skin tight or blew out at the hips. I love the way the women wore their hair up or down in loose curls. They dressed quite conservative and some with an edge, thus the garments I will be creating will be Transeasonal Dressy Daywear/Evening, sexy and slim fitting, to accentuate a woman's curves. I will hopefully be encorporating my 2nd love, Leopard Print in my collection, but definitely Midnight Black, Rose Red and Chalk White.

I cannot wait to get started ! I always knew I wanted to create a rockabilly style range and this is a prime opportunity to get started ! So bring on the next 26 weeks ! :]]

Here are a few inspirational pictures of mine to have a look at...
